Hike to the Hermit’s Cabin
A real hermit once lived in the forest next to Giellajohka. Though he passed away long ago, his modest cabin still stands, offering a glimpse into his quiet, solitary life.
Some of his belongings remain, and we kindly ask visitors to respect the site by leaving everything untouched so that future generations can experience it, too.
The loop trail is about 3 km and suitable for all levels. Plan 1.5 to 3 hours depending on your pace.

Kielaniemi’s 500-Year-Old Pine Forest

This is a peaceful spot for slow forest walks or riverside breaks. The forest is visible from Giellajohka and easy to access.
