Performers and Artists

Suistamon Sähkö is a wild genre hybrid combining ethno-techno, hip-hop, synthesizers, rap proclamations, and the Soviet accordion. The band’s powerful rhythms invite experimental dancing—both in Finland and around the world. With three albums released, the group is also known for their striking music videos and ecstatic live performances, which have been seen in the United States, Germany, France, and the Nordic countries.

The Meänland

The Meänland mainly creates folk-reggae grooves in Finnish and Meänkieli, with their uniqueness stemming from clever lyrics, a relaxed rhythm, and uncompromising musicality. The Meänland’s debut single, “Sole mikhään,” reached number two on Finland’s Spotify Viral Chart, and their songs have been streamed millions of times in total. Over their 10-year career, the band has earned a strong reputation both in Finland and across the Nordic countries. Lately, their gigs have almost always sold out. The Meänland guarantees an unforgettable show, and alongside fun and audience sing-alongs, their performances often feature surprise guest appearances!

PuskaJaska & Buutsi- varkaat

PuskaJaska & Buutsivarkaat on rovaniemeläinen rokkipumppu, jonka ilmaisussa voi kuulla vaikutteita kirjavasti amerikkalaisesta juurimusiikkiperinteestä, vaihtoehtorockista, kuin esimerkiksi suomi-iskelmästäkin. Biisejä esitetään tuorein sovituksin kaikilta PuskaJaskan neljältä levyltä, mutta painotus on uudemmassa ja rouheammassa Buutsivarkaat -materiaalissa. Pidä buutseistasi kiinni!

J Laitinen & Jouni J

Nicholas Francett

Nicholas Francett is a singer-songwriter from Inari. His Finnish-language indie music paints emotional landscapes of life with delicate and gentle tones. What Kasperi will do at Giellajohka’s Spring Festival will become clear—at the latest—when you’re there in person.

Hannibal & Hot Heros

Hot Heros is a powerhouse of Finnish free jazz — an endless source of timeless wisdom and a cornerstone of sonic waves. This monstrous trio, created by Ville Rauhala, Sami Sippola, and Janne Tuomi, teamed up with hip-hop legend Hannibal Stark to forge a unique blend of sound, rhythm, and rhyme. Get ready! Combining jazz, rap, soul, and funk, the band released their joint debut *Tässä ja nyt* through Monsp Records in 2019 and is now preparing to release their new album *Katajainen* in autumn 2022, under the renowned Svart Records.
